Our Training Project Approach & Methodology

Diagnostic Assessments

Our approach ensures that the correct candidates are recruited for the programme. Hence it is of critical importance to us to ensure that pre-assessments are conducted at recruitment stage. This enables us to recruit the correct candidates that have shown keen interest in the programme itself. This also assist us in identifying gaps and areas to focus on per individual learner. This exercise also assist us in minimising learner drop outs and ensures that only learners who have keen interest are recruited into the programme. This will be followed by Programme Induction, where a number of role players within the sector (such as a SETA, Funding Department, Training Provider a Learner) come together to outline expectations and ensure that a learner is well inducted.

Training

We pride ourselves with qualified and certified facilitators who focus on learner develop and facilitate our programmes in line with accredited unit standards per module.
Theory training is administered to learners for the duration of the programme. This is followed by classroom exercises, together with formative and summative assessments in order to access the progress of the learner.
Attendance of learners is strictly monitored right throughout the programme.

Monitoring & Quality Assurance

At Immaculate Hospitality Academy we have a comprehensive monitoring and quality assurance that is continuous and ensures success right throughout the programme. We have trained mentors who will oversee the development of the learner at both workplace and classroom environment. Continuous engagement with the ETQA from the SETA is done. Learners are loaded on the SETA system and declared competent on the system once all assessments are marked and declared competent.

Assessments

Assessments begins in class with Formative assessments, followed by summative assessments. These are administered by a competent and certified team of assessors. Learners will therefore go for workplace training at completion of these. Remedial work is conducted where necessary for those learners who need it. Portfolio Building commences immediately thereafter, where learners prepare the POE files for evaluation.

Moderation & Verification.

At completion of assessments, 10% of the files are sent to be moderated by a registered and certified moderator to assess the quality of work done by both the learner and assessor. Moderator ensures that international standards are adhered to. The ETQA works hand in hand with the moderator to ensure that standards are adhered to and all necessary verifications are done.

Certification

After the completion of moderation and verification, learners are declared competent in the SETA system owned by the SETA. Learners will then be certificated and issued with certificates in the relevant programme. Certiicates are issued 1 week after the POEs have been accessed, whilst waiting for the SETA to issue certificates.
